Trust has to be built little by little. It is not something that happens overnight. We have to know someone well enough before we can trust them. To trust someone is to know their character, their likes and dislikes, their voice, and their walk. To know God and live as He commands, we must know His character. One of God’s character traits is pure light. His light indicates our salvation. He speaks to those who believe in Him through his light. His written word gives light and offers us moral guidance. God desires that we approach Him with total trust and believe in Him with the purity of a child.
The only way we can have intimacy with God is through the Holy Spirit. This intimate encounter is so pure, completely immersing our whole being in His Holy presence. When “deep calls to deep” (Psalm 42:7), there is a beautiful and perfect communication between our souls and the Spirit of God. My spirit was longing for a deep intimacy with God Almighty. Only God could see into my heart and know what I needed to hear.
The story that I’m about to tell you, it wasn’t a dream. I experienced the divine sight of the Lord. “Deep” was calling to the depth of my soul. Through this particular vision, the Lord revealed my struggles concerning my trust and faith in Him and my fear of giving Him the control of my life.
It was the 25th anniversary celebration of the church that we had just started attending. It was a big event, taking place in a huge stadium. At the end of celebration everyone held hands, while the pastor prayed. Half way through the prayer, as I prayed with my eyes closed, I felt a strong wind rushed over my face. It was so strong that I felt it blowing through my eyelashes! With my eyes still closed, I saw a vision of the Lord’s feet. Then I heard four words spoken very softly; faith, trust, and no fear. I felt chills all over my body.
As the pastor finished the prayer and I opened my eyes, I noticed that there wasn’t any wind in the stadium. I asked my husband, “Did you feel that wind?” He said; “What? No!” It was an amazing feeling to have such an encounter with the Lord. I felt like I was standing on holy ground. This vision wasn’t a illusion. When the Lord spoke, there was a perfect oneness between us. I had no doubt what I saw and what I heard was the reality and truth . I was so blessed and humbled! I didn’t realize how we got back to the car, as we walked through the crowd of thousands of people. I felt as I was walking on a cloud nine in different world. As though the place was deserted. I couldn’t hear anything or see anyone. I was in total awe!
A song by Natalie Grant came to my mind;
“At the sound of Your great name every fear has no place. At the sound of Your great name all the weak will find strength. At the sound of Your great name the enemy leaves……..”
On the drive home from stadium I wondered why I had been shown only the Lord’s feet and not his face. I have learned to be persistent in my prayer. Keep on asking the Lord, and He shall answer the one who seeks Him. During my quiet time, I asked the Lord about this. He didn’t answer me the first or second time, but eventually, He gave me an answer. Seeing only His feet meant, “Follow Me. Follow My steps.”
Whenever the Holy Spirit calls to our spirit, there will be a breakthrough into spirits. Such a place is a deep anointing place, pure love, and light.
( John 8:12 )“I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life”.
“O Lord, your sweet love keeps calling me. Thank you for not giving up on me.”
