“No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light.” [Luke 8:16]
Light is the radiance or illumination from a particular source. In the Bible, light symbolizes righteousness. If light is a metaphor for living an upright life, then darkness signifies an evil and destructive life. God Himself is light. He is absolutely Holy and there is no hint of injustice in Him. Those who walk in darkness live and act against God. There is no truth in their life’s walk. Therefore, God holds no heavenly fellowship or intimacy with these unholy souls.
People who live near God and walk in His brilliant light are partakers of His divine energy, and they experience glimpses of His power and His love in their daily walk. They illuminate His light to the world around them.
God’s nature is pure and perfect and it should be represented as such to the dark world.
Unfortunately, sometimes we cling to our old ways for dear life, instead of embracing the reality who we belong to, the God of all creation. When we are determined to get our own way and insist on our agenda, we actually block God out of our consciousness. Rather than single-mindedly following some selfish goal, we must make a quick turn to God and ask Him to shine His light on our mission, so we can see clearly from His perspective. Cling to God, not to His favors. All it takes is a quick prayer, a simple conversation with our Creator. It must be done with faith [an open mind and heart]. As you began to immerse yourself in His light and glory, asking for His will to be done in your life, the creator of Heaven and earth will gladly comply.
God wants you to be a lamp on a hilltop that shines His light over your city. Imagine what an honorable life it would be to reflect His light.
“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.”[Matthew 5:14]
